Principal Message

Dear Colusa High School Family,

It has been my honor to serve CUSD as an administrator for the last six years.  Prior to moving into administration, I taught English at CHS for ten years.  I’ve also had the pleasure to coach junior high volleyball and basketball and various youth programs to further connect to our students and community.  Our site is student driven to promote student leadership opportunities, and our staff is here to support and guide our young adults throughout their high school journey.  We strongly encourage students to connect to clubs and extra-curricular opportunities. As we navigate through distance learning, we continue to put our focus on being a TEAM for our students.

Our vision is that Colusa High School will be a place where all students experience a safe and comfortable learning environment.  Students are responsible for their own education and behavior.  Our goal is for students to develop a sense of worth, pride and accomplishment from their school experience.  We desire for our students to explore career/work options with guidance from our staff.

Our staff will work collaboratively to provide rigorous curriculum and instructional programs that challenges students to achieve their potential while offering an integrated curriculum that is relevant to the lives of the students and enable students to become life-long learners.  We encourage students to attend teacher office hours for additional support and one-on-one learning opportunities during our distance learning.

Our partnership with our parents/guardians, community members and businesses is extremely important.  As a team, we unite to accept the responsibilities and rewards of educating our youth.  Our ongoing interchange of ideas, resources, and service/learning opportunities enhance the learning opportunities for our students as we strengthen our ties between the home, the school and the work place.  Our small, rural community plays a key role in offering a unique high school experience that larger schools are unable to offer.

Please do not hesitate to reach out should you need support, assistance or information at any time.  We look forward to a great 2020-21 school year.  As always, it’s a great day to be a Hawk!
